Priyanka Chopra is in Assam for the third time after being roped in as the brand ambassador of Assam Tourism’s ‘Awesome Assam’ campaign

Hollywood actor Priyanka Chopra, also the brand ambassador of Assam Tourism’s ‘Awesome Assam’ campaign, began shooting for a new commercial at various locations in Jorhat and Golaghat districts today.

The ‘Quantico’ and ‘Baywatch’ famed actor arrived in Jorhat yesterday for the shoot of the new commercial and was even seen dancing bihu with students of Subarna Prabha Bordoloi Girls’ HS School she visited as part of her tour itinerary.

The internationally-acclaimed actor who has of late been spending more time in Hollywood has come to Assam for the video shoot and is staying at the Thengal Manor, the bungalow of late industrialist Hemendra Prasad Barooah along with other members of her crew.

Apart from shooting in tea gardens, she will also be featuring in a sequence to highlight the traditional ‘Chaklang’ marriage ritual of the Ahom community besides shooting in various other locations for the next two days.

Meanwhile, earlier on Sunday, the actor took to the social media to share her experience of being taught by a seven-year-old girl named Radha as to how to drape the traditional ‘mekhela sador’. She was seen wearing a ‘mekhela sador’ in the earlier ‘Awesome Assam’ commercial and also during her first visit to Assam in November 2016 when she visited the Kamakhya temple.

“Met my new friend Geeta. She’s gentle, she listens and just loves hanging out!” the actor wrote with a picture of her and the elephant she rode during the shoot.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people assembled outside the heritage bungalow and near the shooting locations to get a glimpse of the ‘Desi Girl’.
