Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, the Assam education minister said that, 20 per cent schools of 13 districts were graded A+ following evaluation of schools and students in the third phase of Gunotsav in the State.

The Assam minister said that, a total of 17,869 schools in 13 districts were evaluated and a total of 11,74,995 students appeared in the evaluation.

“Following the evaluation, we have found that 3,575 schools – or around 20 per cent schools – managed to score grade A+. Apart from it, 7,063 or 39.53 per cent schools graded A, 4,903 or 27.44 per cent schools under B grade, 1,808 or 10.11 per cent schools were graded C and 520 or 2.9 per cent schools under D grade,” Sarma said.

“If we compared with the first and second phase evaluation results, then it revealed that, maximum schools improved grades and it is a good sign. In the first phase of Gunotsav evaluation, only 6 per cent schools managed to get grade A+ and in the second phase of Gunotsav evaluation, only 9 per cent schools managed to get grade A+,” Sarma said.
